I am writing this letter to complement my application for various private roles that you are advertising. I believe that I have the appropriate characteristics, leadership and management experience and related professional traits to be highly successful.
After a rewarding and extensive military career in the HR/Remuneration (People) branch of the Armed Forces, and 2+ years within London’s Metropolitan Police Service, I would like to continue in a challenging, professional career supporting high-profile and/or busy employer’s. I consider that my previous Staff roles and worldwide operational experience are extremely valuable qualities. The MOD/and Police roles that I have held have been far ranging; from running VIP senior officers offices and homes to designing and developing HR practices, to supporting, training and briefing teams and clients/customers, whilst establishing credible working relationships with both other stakeholders, and officers/soldiers. The varying standards and qualities required for these type of roles: tact, dedication to duty, adaptability, and absolute discretion, I believe are routine within my character - plus I have always led by example and take extreme pride in the work that I do in support of others. I know and understand the importance of sensitivity and teamwork, and that both are critical for employment in a team. I have spent extensive time, not only leading small teams but also working and supporting 1:1 with senior high-profile Army officers - these capabilities have given me the skills to effectively negotiate and influence sensitive subjects and manage diverse relationships. I have had to remain agile in my approach throughout my career as I have often had multiple roles. Self-motivated, honest and highly dependable, I have developed my ability to communicate effectively; having briefed at the political and senior military command level and of course at the lowest level to the teams I have led.
