We are a professional, middle aged Polish/American couple that has lived in Cotswolds since 2017. Coming from high-end hotels and restaurant background originally, we have a solid base in housekeeping, cooking, serving at table, organizing contractors, maintenance and other household duties.
We currently work on a private estate in the Cotswolds for a busy family with 2 children and 4 dogs. Magda’s duties cover a wide range of deep cleaning, laundry, ironing, wardrobe management, pantry and cupboards management, flower arrangements, making sure the house is presentable at all times as principals often have guest on a very short notice. She also looks after 4 very active dogs, walking them, booking groomers and vets appointments. Apart from main residence there are also outhouses such as pool house, tennis house, lake house as well as a tree house and stables (principals offices and meeting rooms) that need daily attention. Working as a housekeeper and also housekeeping manager in boutique hotels in Cotswolds Magda has learn to be meticulous in every aspect of her job and always have hands on attitude.
Jon’s career is Hotel General Manager. As a life long collector of skills, Jon is very handy to have around. Managing small hotels and restaurants Jon has been able to put his skill to good use, acting as the primary repair man for most tasks. Although Jon’s main duty is cooking for the family he also works very close with estate manager looking after the pool, the lake, dealing with the alarms and heating systems on the estate. He also is looking after the new addition to the household, 4 beehives after having gone to a beekeeping course.
When Jon and I moved to Poland from US in 2008 we opened up a very successful small restaurant and coffee roasting company. Running a business together for 6 years has taught us to work closely as a team, allowing us both to focus on our strong points. We also understand how important working as part of a team is, as there are 7 of us on the estate plus as well as staff from the London house and the principals PA's. We both enjoy cooking and always prepare our meals with fresh ingredients using vegetables from out kitchen garden. Jon’s life has seen him travel all over the world and has influenced his tastes and cooking style. He is very creative but also feels comfortable in preparing family meals. My style is a bit more simple, healthy modern comfort food.
We both like to keep ourselves busy and always have projects going on. Our years of hospitality experience has taught us how to be proactive towards the needs of our clients, be their one or many and how to ensure their satisfaction with every task they may present us with. We are also very discreet and respect the principals privacy. We both have experience dealing with tradespeople, as well as troubleshooting issues and taking action to insure a problem is properly resolved. We both are huge animal lovers, having had 2 Labradors one of whom travelled with us across the ocean when we decided to move countries. We are both drivers, fully flexible and no dependents.
